Loan in dispute, can bank take repayments from my account?

Postby Iwasbornfree » Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:08 am

I have a loan with a bank which is in dispute. Solicitors are handling this claim (before I knew about this forum).

I have stopped making my loan repayments and now my account is overdrawn (unauthorised overdraft) because of this. I have now had letters and a phone call informing me of this and requesting payment of the overdraft, both unanswered as yet.

Before I make any reply.

Does anybody know if the bank are allowed to take the loan repayments from my account if the loan with them is in dispute?

Appreciate any help here.
