In 1596, the Privy Council issued letters of authority and appointed an orator to gather up and expel, en masse, a troublesome people known in those days as Blackamoors. These days we call them Muslims. It was said by the queen at the time that too many had “crept into the lande” and their religion and crimes and mischiefs were a great problem. A second letter to the same effect was issued by the Privy Council in 1601.
We need a another expulsion of the Blackamoors.
