Dock Officer

Dock Officer

Postby technique » Thu Jun 11, 2020 6:11 pm

I saw a dock officer get involved in a court case in the magistrates court, the dock officer told the defendant to give their details to the mag.The defendant then told the dock officer to not get involved as they were not legally trained.

My question is,Is it the role of a dock officer to prompt a defendant to give their details to the court?

Does anyone have a link to the procedure a dock officer must follow, when escorting a defendant into court.

I believe a dock officer shouldn't get involved any court cases bc they're not legally trained.

Does anyone know if this is right or wrong?
